Dr. Kathryn Smith, therapeutic optometrist at Envision Eye Center

Dr. Kathryn Smith

Therapeutic Optometrist

Dr. Smith completed her undergraduate studies at Trinity University in San Antonio before earning her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston. Following graduation, she honed her skills working alongside leading ophthalmologists in San Antonio and Dallas, managing pre- and post-operative care for LASIK, cataract, and other specialized eye surgeries.

Dr. Smith has been at Envision Eye Center since 2017 and is dedicated to providing full-spectrum primary eye care and managing complex ocular conditions for the entire family. Outside of work, she enjoys hiking with her family and exploring the outdoors.

Dr. Karine Combe, FAAO

Residency-Trained Pediatric Optometrist · FAAO

Dr. Combe grew up in Houston, TX, and later moved to Austin, where she earned her undergraduate degree in Biochemistry from the University of Texas at Austin. She then went on to complete her Doctorate of Optometry at the Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago. During her externships, Dr. Combe gained experience in full-scope optometry, working in primary care, ocular disease, pediatrics, and low vision. After earning her doctorate, Dr. Combe returned to Austin to complete a residency specializing in pediatrics, vision therapy, and vision rehabilitation.

Dr. Combe believes that vision is so much more than just achieving “20/20”. She’s passionate about equipping her patients with the tools and care they need to enhance their entire visual system and improve their overall quality of life. Committed to lifelong learning and growth, Dr. Combe has earned her Fellowship in the American Academy of Optometry (FAAO). She is always looking for new ways to expand her expertise and provide the highest level of care to her patients.

Outside of her professional life, Dr. Combe enjoys spending time outdoors, staying active, exploring new restaurants, and attending live music events.

Carolin is originally from Germany and moved to Texas in 2011. She began her career as an Optician at Envision Eye Center in 2015, bringing together her six years of retail and fashion experience with her passion for eye care.

Carolin enjoys helping patients find unique frames and recommending lens solutions tailored to their lifestyle and visual needs. In addition to patient care, she manages the office and oversees daily operations to ensure a smooth and efficient experience for both patients and staff. Outside of work, Carolin enjoys exercising, dancing, spending time outdoors, and traveling the world.

Christina is a native Texan who earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Textiles and Apparel from the University of Texas at Austin. Christina fell in love with customer service and worked as a retail manager at various boutiques and big box stores throughout Austin for twenty years.

Always looking to expand her professional horizons, Christina decided to make a career change and found a burgeoning passion for optometry and patient care. As lead technician, Christina is devoted to creating exceptional patient experiences while also assisting with specialty contact lenses, pediatrics and myopia management. When not at work, Christina enjoys thrifting, baking and spending time with her family and dog.

Originally from Nicaragua, Audrey moved to Austin when she was 13 years old and has proudly called it home ever since. Before beginning her career as an optician, she owned her own online fashion boutique, where she developed her passion for style, creativity, and helping others feel confident.

Outside of the optical world, Audrey is also a photographer who loves capturing meaningful moments and preserving memories through beautiful images. Her love for photography, fashion, and personal styling reflects what she enjoys most — helping people express themselves and feel their absolute best. When she is not working, Audrey loves spending quality time with her husband and children.

Originally from Mexico, Daniela moved to Texas in 2009. She spent 12 years in the service industry, where she discovered her passion for connecting with people and creating positive experiences. She later became a Medical Laboratory Technician and managed a reference lab in El Paso, Texas. Daniela is excited to bring her healthcare and customer service experience to our optometry office, where she enjoys welcoming patients and helping them feel comfortable and cared for from the moment they walk through our doors.

Outside of work, she loves exploring the city, spending time outdoors, traveling, making memories with friends, and spoiling her dogs.

Originally from Puerto Rico, Jessica later lived in Los Angeles before making Austin her home. As an Optometric Technician, she is passionate about providing exceptional patient care and creating a welcoming experience for every patient. Her interest in healthcare is rooted in her background in health promotion and medical anthropology, which has given her a deeper appreciation for the connection between health, culture, and individualized care.

Outside of the office, Jessica enjoys expressing her creativity through baking, sewing, and designing handmade jewelry. She also loves exploring Austin's vibrant food and live music scene. When she's not working, she enjoys spending time with her partner, their dog, and their cat.

Marisol was born in Mexico and has called Austin home for most of her life. Shortly after joining the team, she began training in vision therapy, combining her passion for helping others with her ability to connect with patients. Born and raised in Seattle, Washington, Bri moved to Austin, Texas, in 2016 and has loved calling Texas home ever since. Before becoming an optician, she owned an online boutique, where she combined her love of fashion with her creative spirit. Today, she enjoys frame styling and helping patients find eyewear that reflects their personality, while making the experience enjoyable and easy from start to finish.

When she's not at work, Bri enjoys writing poetry, discovering new artists, gaming, and spending time in nature.

Dr. Dimple Sawhney

Founder & Optometrist

Dr. Dimple Sawhney founded Envision Eye Center in 2015 and loves living in the Mueller community as well! She is a proud Longhorn with a Bachelor of Science from the University of Texas and her Doctorate of Optometry from the University of Houston. She completed her externships at Quantico Naval Hospital in Quantico, VA and Mann Eye Institute in Houston, TX. After graduation from optometry school, she moved to Manhattan where she worked in a fast-paced, prestigious medical and surgical eye care practice.

There she served as the clinical coordinator and sub-investigator for an FDA clinical trial for cross-linking for keratoconus patients, and a sub-investigator for the Visian lens FDA clinical trial. She is also a co-founder of Dry Eye Care Texas, which helps manage patients with moderate to advanced dry eye disease. She is passionate about providing all patients with the most thorough eye care and addressing all of their eye concerns.

In her free time, Dr. Sawhney enjoys exploring Austin and traveling with her three kids, husband, and two dogs.
